The hotel you find for your vacation plays a significant part of how much you will enjoy your time. Even the most beautiful tourist spots will be forgotten if you get yourself into a bad hotel. To avoid this problem, I refer to discounted agency travel packages to get an idea of the hotels to check out. TripAdvisor is a good resource too.
Since I have been hopping between Iloilo and Cebu lately, I would just like to share short reviews of the hotels I have stayed in in my short trips to this quaint city.
THE PRICEY ONES
The hotel is definitely the most luxurious I have been billeted in when I visited Iloilo. This is one of the newest hotels located in Megaworld’s Iloilo Business Park. Large twin beds, very comfortable bath room, and a good buffet treat for breakfast.
Diversion 21 Hotel
Located right between SM City Iloilo and the Iloilo Esplanade, Diversion 21 Hotel is a convenient choice in terms of accessibility. It is also a short walk away to the Smallville Complex for those who love to hang out. The room we were assigned by our hosts was a large double room which could actually fit five (5) people instead of just two.

Highway 21 Hotel
Booked a Superior Room in Highway 21 after a quick vacation in Boracay. The hotel is quite clean and provides the basic amenities. Good hotel for an affordable price. Nicely located in General Luna Street, Iloilo City where banks, bread shops, and restaurants are easily a walk away. This is right beside the more pricey Sarabia Manor Hotel.
I like Go Hotels for its affordable price and location right beside Robinsons Mall Iloilo. Good enough for what you would want in a hotel: easy access, comfortable beds, clean sheets, clean bathroom / toilet, and decent WiFi. Just like its sister company Cebu Pacific Airlines, room rates vary seasonally. I was able to get a room at 400 pesos through a http://travelbook.ph promo.

Century 21 Hotel
We once booked its Family Room to accommodate five (5) of us who had an appointment at the Iloilo Provincial Capitol the next day. The hotel was a bit old and the room’s TV was small. Not the kind of hotel I’ll visit if their are equally priced ones available. The location is great for our purpose since it is just about a kilometer away from the Capitol and its very near 7-11 convenience store.
Grand Tower Suites
I especially like this hotel because of its superior room which has4-5 single beds for big groups or a family. Since our appointment is with the Iloilo provincial government, there was no need to hurry since the Capitol is a stone’s throw away.
One Lourdes Dormitel
The exteriors of One Lourdes Dormitel is kind of discouraging particularly since you have to enter a small alley to proceed to its front desk. Not enough personnel to assist you. However, their rooms will surprise for being well-maintained and clean. Bathrooms are clean but the shower didn’t have that much pressure for a comfortable bath.
Ong Bun Pension House
Ong Bun is really really cheap and perfect for those who are not picky with their rooms. Their cheapest aircon room which was around 400 pesos is very small with just enough space for a single bed, your bags, and then the CR. Located in downtown Iloilo City, this is just a few steps away from bargain stores and department stores including Robinsons Iloilo.by
